Endowed Funds

Supporting an endowed fund is one of the most enduring investments a donor can make in the future of honors education. Unlike a one-time gift, an endowed scholarship is designed to provide support for students year after year, creating opportunities that extend far beyond a single generation of learners. Other endowed funds support faculty professional development to help them remain on the forefront of education, experiential learning opportunities for students, and lecture series to bring distinguished scholars, leaders, artists, and innovators to campus. By contributing to an Honors College endowed fund, donors help ensure that talented, motivated students, regardless of their financial circumstances, can fully engage in the transformative experiences the Honors College has to offer. Together, these funds strengthen access, attract exceptional students, and create a lasting legacy.

The minimum amount required for establishment of a new endowment is $25,000. Endowments can be paid over time (most commonly 5 years) by signing a pledge form that indicates the timeframe and structure of the endowment. For more information on how to establish a new endowed fund, contact:

Honors College Endowed Scholarship and Program Funds

Bob McCormick Scholarship

For students accepted into the Schedler Honors College.

Charles G. Blachly Memorial Honors College Scholarship

For Honors College students with financial need. First preference shall be given to students majoring in math or music.

Clifton Scholarship

For junior or senior Honors College students with a GPA of 3.7 or above.

Dr. James Flanagin, Jr. Lecture Endowment

To support guest lecturers for the Honors College.

Evelyn Schaffhauser Duff Scholarship

For Honors College Students.

Eileen Rice Tollett Annuity

For Honors College Students.

Farris Family Lecture Series

To support guest lecturers for the Honors College.

Glenda Middleton Scholarship

For Honors College Students.

Grace Catherine Kellner Memorial Scholarship

For full-time students enrolled in the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College. Preference (in descending order) given to students with financial need, majoring in Environmental Science or Geography, underrepresented students, or students from Pope, County, Arkansas.

Hendrix-McAdams Honors College Endowed Scholarship

For full-time students enrolled in the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College. Preference given to students with financial need or non-traditional students.

Jack A. Strickland III Honors College Scholarship

For Honors College students majoring in the sciences.

James E. and Madge Wade Clayton Scholarship

For full-time junior, senior or graduate Honors College students. Preference shall be given to students from Arkansas and pursuing courses in the field of Classical Languages or United States History. Selection may be based on financial need.

Jeff and Patsy Farris Honors College Fund

For Honors College student scholarships and/or the beautification and upkeep of honors spaces.

Jennifer Edwards Honors College Memorial Scholarship

For students in the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College with a minimum GPA of 3.25. Preference to underrepresented students with financial need.

Jessica Phillips Memorial Scholarship

For full-time students from the Schedler Honors College with a minimum GPA of 3.25. Preference given to students majoring in Creative Writing or Theatre. Consideration given to financial need.

Jon Kennedy Memorial Scholarship

For students enrolled in the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College participating in TAG/URGE program with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

McCastlain International Studies Scholarship

For International Students within the Honors College.

Monica Luebker Memorial Scholarship

For full-time Honors College Pre-Law students with a GPA of 3.5 or above. Preference given to underrepresented students. Consideration may be given to financial need.

Norb and Carol Schedler Scholar-in-Residence

“To support a visiting scholar/guest lecturer from the fields of philosophy or religious studies annually.”

Norbert O. Schedler Honors College Memorial Scholarship

For full-time students in the Honors College with preference given to students with financial need.

Rebekah Harpool Memorial Scholarship

“For full-time, undergraduate students enrolled in the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College that have completed their first year.”

Robins-Ferguson Endowed Scholarship

For full-time Honors College students. Recipients shall demonstrate academic seriousness, discipline, and personal maturity.

Schedler Honors College Endowment (TAG/URGE/ELF)

For Honors College students participating in study abroad, internships, undergraduate research, or other experiential learning opportunities.

Schedler Honors College Professional Development

“To support the faculty and staff of the Honors College for professional opportunities.”

Simmons First National Bank Endowed Student Assistance

“For full-time rising junior students in the Honors College with a GPA of 3.5 or above. Financial need shall be strongly considered.”

Virginia Guffey Honors College Scholarship

“For Honors College students.”
